Anna Gasser back on snow
Oympia winner Anna Gasser is finally back on the snowboard after a two month Corona break. This was made possible by the Kaunertal Glacier in cooperation with the ÖSV and Pistenbully. Since a few days Anna and her ÖSV colleagues Clemens Millauer and Moritz Amsüss have been training on the specially built Jump.

One more skiing experience on the Kaunertal glacier
After several weeks of COVID-19-related closure, the Kaunertal Glacier plans to resume skiing at the start of the summer season from May 29 to June 7, 2020. The glacier road as well as the accessible crevasse will already be open again from May 21, 2020, and operation will be carried out in compliance with appropriate hygiene measures.

Official opening Falginjochbahn 3.113 m
From Saturday, December 7, 2019, the new Falginjochbahn 3,113 m will go into operation after a construction period of five and a half months.
The new lift will transport up to 100 people to 3,113 m above sea level in just 3.9 minutes.

Silvretta Classic Ralley as guest in Kaunertal
The 20th edition of the Silvretta Classic Rallye Montafon took place from 6 to 8 July 2017. Around 180 automobile jewels drove through Vorarlberg and Tyrol for three days, stopping at the Kaunertal Glacier, among other places. Among the participants were several prominent names such as the former Formula 1 driver Karl Wendlinger or the former Le Mans winner Joachim Winkelhock.

The return of a world champion

“We are a place with tradition – with us everything stays different! The Kaunertal Glacier lived up to this motto again on April 23rd. Together with the ski club and the Kaunertal Ski School, the mountain railroads took up an old custom from the 1930s at the “1st Glacier Soal Race” – the rope race, which ultimately developed from crossing the glacier in a rope team.
